Greater safety for the trenchless rehabilitation of drinking water pipes

The rehabilitation of existing drinking water pipes presents network operators and planners with growing challenges: alongside technical renewal, drinking water hygiene, operational safety, construction time and cost-effectiveness play a particularly crucial role.

The KTW-BWGL certificate of conformity certifies that the SaniTube® process from Amex Sanivar is suitable for drinking water hygiene. This marks an important milestone for its use in the trenchless rehabilitation of drinking water pipes in the DN 80 to DN 450 range.

This means that our system is not only recognised under the French ACS and the Austrian OFI standards, but also holds the highest German drinking water approval.


Close-Fit technology without resin or curing

SaniTube® is based on close-fit technology. The liner is pulled into the existing pipework and, under pressure, moulds itself tightly to the existing, deteriorated pipe wall. This creates a new pipe within the existing one, without the need for resin impregnation, thermal curing or reversal.

This eliminates a key processing step which, in resin-based methods, can require additional technical equipment and process control. This simplifies installation and enables an efficient construction process.

Long feed lengths, fewer interventions

Depending on the project conditions, SaniTube® allows insertion lengths of up to 2,000 metres at insertion speeds of approximately 10 to 35 m/min. This means that longer sections of pipework can be rehabilitated with only a few excavation pits. This minimises disruption to the existing infrastructure and significantly reduces construction times as well as the inconvenience to local residents and traffic.

Furthermore, the system is designed for applications up to PN 16. Mechanical connection to the existing infrastructure is achieved via specially developed SaniGrip flange couplings®.
